Step one

Before filling your enema bag, set up your space for a smooth and comfortable experience. Ideally, have everything ready in advance by choosing a clean, quiet area where you feel comfortable. There are multiple ways to release—some prefer directly on the floor with protection, while others use the toilet. If releasing on the floor, lay down a soft, absorbent towel as a safe zone and keep an extra towel nearby for added comfort and cleanup. Once your space is set, you’re ready to fill and position your enema bag.

Step two

It’s important to hang your enema bag above the level where you are lying, as the liquid relies solely on gravity to flow into your body. You can hang it from a secure point, such as a hook or showerhead. When inserting the liquid, lie on your left side, as this position allows the solution to flow naturally along the colon’s shape and stimulates the nerves connected to the liver for optimal cleansing. Aim to retain the solution for 5–15 minutes, depending on your comfort levels. When you feel ready, move to the toilet and allow everything to release naturally. Take your time. Don’t rush. Let your body guide you. Drink plenty of water or an electrolyte-rich drink afterward to support your body’s detox and rehydration.

Your experience

Your enema experience will depend on where you are mentally, emotionally, and physically in that moment. It’s important to breathe through the process, as the water or coffee moves through different areas of the colon, each associated with stored emotions. Every emotion has a physical byproduct—whether it’s gas, fecal matter, mucus, mucoid plaque, or even parasites. Throughout the process, stay present by focusing on your breath, especially in the lower abdomen. Intention is everything, so approach the experience with mindfulness and trust in your body’s natural cleansing process.
